Concert in Mödling
Hearing loss as a theme: composer Wilfried Hiller has - inspired also by his own tinnitus experiences - dealt with Beethoven's situation. The result is a "scene with Beethoven" with partly quite subtle parodistic traits.
Also on the program: Beethoven's Cello Sonata op. 102/2, which marks the beginning of his late creative period, as well as the Trio op. 38, dedicated to the Viennese physician Johann Adam Schmidt, with whom Beethoven was undergoing treatment because of his incipient hearing loss.
